Congratulations, you are about to create some long lasting memories for your family. How exciting! Maybe a little stressful? But it doesn't have to be. Below I will be sharing some tips and tricks as well as some useful links to make this experience as enjoyable as can be.
First and foremost - make sure everyone is rested and fed. Managing hungry and tired kids can be very frustrating, especially when you are actually trying to get them to cooperate.
Bring snacks, drinks, favorite toys - anything that can be used as a bribe. Maybe even something you don't typically let your children have - like some chocolate or lollipops. We need them as happy as can be.
Pick coordinated outfits for your family and have them ready ahead of time - washed, ironed, accessorized. Check the weather for the day of photoshoot, so that everyone is warm and comfy too.
Discuss any particular requests and ideas with your photographer ahead of time, so that I could be best prepared as well.
Make sure your phones are charged and your kids' favorite shows are available for distraction if needed.
Relax, enjoy and have fun. I try to get all posed photos done in the very beginning while kids are still focused. After that, I will just follow you along and do my best to capture a bunch of candid shots when true emotions shine through.
Now here are a few links that I find very useful and I encourage you to check:
